Title "Stealers"

Recently, I've noticed that many people using the same titles from other writers that had their articles on the Hot Content. I was shock, at first, and a bit disappointed with this work practice. Are we that desparate to get articles read that we feel it is right to "steal" someone's sweat?

I know, it is only a title, but the author must has thought about it long and hard. I am for one, a sucker for title! If the title entices me, I will click on it and read. If the title is just plain, I won't. Therefore, I do believe that title does matter to many writers. I thought about my title carefully while I work on an article. It does take brain-work! So for someone to take it, it's very unethical.

Personally, a few of my articles were stolen, from title to content, and were published by the same company. In the agreement, the publisher stated that they won't publish any content that had been published anywhere on the internet before. Yeah, right! As long as another writer, twisted the content around, change a few words, then voila...it will be published, by the same publisher!

Until it happens to you, you would not know how this really feels. It is like someone rips out your guts!

In a race to get views, writers will do anything to get read. And in a race to get place on the feature page, authors will just make their title as closely as they could to the most popular articles they see.

I know, we all have to do research for certain articles, that's fine, but we should use our words to make that article uniquely ours.

Writers are creators! Can we just take a stand, and create our own original ideas? If we can't create, we shouldn't call ourselves writers at all.

Am I being a drama queen, or am I too sensitive? I don't know! I just don't like the idea that we have no pride left..

I totally agree with you. You know that I have an audio and a script blog. Well, both have been copied. Do I feel good about it? I don't know. At least I was there first.

Don't comment on my blog about it. Both copiers visit frequently and really, I should be honoured. After all, it's still a free world.
